Why Choose Provide Cars?

A quick checklist for the best service available out there. These checklists are made so you can find the best partner to work with, but most importantly, to successfully secure that dream car you’ve been wanting!

If you are like most of the other importers out there, you aren't just looking at us. You have probably contacted several different exporters to see what they are offering. So what do you need to be looking out for when you are comparing the different options?

Here's a quick checklist:

Scope and Ease of Purchasing

  • How many, and what kinds of cars can you buy?
  • Can you buy from auctions or only from stock?
  • How many auctions are available?
  • Is the bidding process online through one single website or through email/s (more inconvenient)?

Provide Cars gives you access to 131+ different auctions weekly all available online through our website. Not only that, but we can also source new and used cars through the dealer network. All your bidding, as well as questions and answers with our staff about different cars, is done in that one place. And after the car is bought, your account and other information is all available 24 / 7 online for you.

Support Services

  • Are translations of the auction sheets available? If so, are they free or do you have to pay for them?
  • Can you get the car checked by an independent inspector if you think you need this?
  • Are there many different ways to communicate with support staff (email, fax, phone, Skype, online chat, Whatsapp etc), and is communication quick and effective?
  • It seems that poor communication is the number one frustration customers had when dealing with other exporters. Not knowing where the car was, how much it was costing, when it would be shipped, or whether money had arrived or not. All of these things can make a simple purchase very stressful.
  • Are the staff fluent in both English and Japanese? (You can imagine the problems if they are weak in one or the other of these!)

We never charge for translations, as we believe we need to give you the best information so you can make the best buying decisions. We offer checking at a large number of auctions around Japan. All our customer service staff are fluent in English and Japanese, and most of our office staff have at least some degree of proficiency in both.

Charges to look out:

  • If bought from the auctions, make sure your exporter is not charging you the sales tax as well as the basic bid price. After all, they should get the sales tax refunded after the car has been exported, so there is no need for these charges.
  • Check very carefully for "hidden" charges. Some exporters charge a few hundred yen per bid (even if you don't end up winning the car), or they charge for translations. These little charges all add up over time.
  • Some exporters have a commission that seems low, but when read carefully you find out that lots of other charges are billed separately. Such as bidding fees, Japan-side customs clearance, documentation fees, de-registration fees, etc.

At Provide Cars, we try to keep our fee structure as simple as possible. So for a standard export, there are just three parts to the final FOB charge:

  • The cost of the car itself.
  • The internal transport cost - to get the car from the auction to the port. (7,000 to 35,000 Yen depending on where the car is and where it needs to go.)
  • Our commission = (car cost at auction * 5%) + 90,000 Yen
*The rate is for one off purchase. Please check the commission fees page for dealer rates.

No hidden charges or creeping expenses.

We have no problem with you checking out other companies, of course. After all, that is the smart thing to do! But I am confident in the package that we offer our customers - the top combination of selection, support, and pricing. But don't take my word for it - check it out for yourself!
