Reconditioned vehicles from Japan
While the rest of the world call them used cars, the are more commonly know as recon vehicles (reconditioned vehicles) in Malayasia. In Japan the high spec options available on vehicles and the low used car prices found in the auctions make importing a recon. vehicle into Malaysia as desireable option.
Shipping
The general shipping method for used Japanese vehicles into Malaysia is Port Klang in West Malaysia or Kuching in East Malaysia. RORO is the cheapest way of shipping though a container can be arranged if requested. We can export via container or RORO (roll on or roll off)
Pre-shipping requirements
Cars and vehicles into Malaysia do not require anything apart from the standard documentation required for exporting out of Japan (export certificate). Provide Cars arranges this.
Import Limitations
Cars can NOT be brand new but must be more than 13 months of registration and less than 5 years old on arrival in Malaysia.

- 140% tax on CIF values for cars with engine sizes up to 1799cc
- 170% tax on CIF values for cars with engine sizes between 1800cc and 1999cc
- 200% tax on CIF values for cars with engine sizes between 2000cc and 2499cc
- 250% tax on CIF values for cars with engine sizes between 2500cc and 2999cc
- 300% tax on CIF values for cars with engine sizes larger than 3000cc
Diesel Vehicles
- 120% tax on CIF values for cars with diesel engines
4WD vehicles
- 60% tax on CIF values for cars with engine sizes up to 1799cc
- 80% tax on CIF values for cars with engine sizes between 1800cc and 1999cc
- 150% tax on CIF values for cars with engine sizes between 2000cc and 2499cc
- 180% tax on CIF values for cars with engine sizes between 2500cc and 2999cc
- 200% tax on CIF values for cars with engine sizes larger than 3000cc
